What is High-Focused Ultrasound?

High-focused ultrasound is one of the non-surgical facelift and skin rejuvenation methods. The main goal is to tighten the skin and eliminate sagging in the skin structure. As the name suggests, in this technique, by sending high-focused sound waves to problem areas, the deep subcutaneous tissues are reached and collagen production is triggered. High-focus ultrasound application has different names such as focus ultrasound, HIFU, non-surgical facelift, non-surgical facelift, ultherapy, and therapy.

Sagging and collapsing of the skin occur due to reasons such as advancing age, familial factors, hormonal problems, sun exposure, wrong and irregular diet, smoking, and excessive alcohol use. Sagging and loss of elasticity can be eliminated by performing a non-surgical facelift with focused ultrasound.

How is Skin Rejuvenation Performed with High-Focused Ultrasound?

In the non-surgical facelift procedure, ultrasound last waves are sent from the surface of the skin to the subcutaneous skin using the ultrasound heads of the high-focus ultrasound device. High-focused thermal heat can be sent 3-4 mm below the skin. In the treatment here, the areas under the skin are targeted directly. Collagen formation in the skin is triggered by this heatwave. Thus, the intended tightening and stretching results can be achieved.

Ultherapy Application Areas

Non-surgical facelift with focused ultrasound eliminates the sagging of the face, recovery of the facial oval, elimination of sagging in the jowl area, tightening of the skin and, consequently, removal of mild wrinkles, eyebrow lift, reduction of nasolabial lines, minimization of pores in the skin, both in the neck and décolleté area. It can be used to provide a tightening effect. In this respect, we can say that it has a very wide usage area.

Is Focused Ultrasound Application Painful?

It is possible to feel a slight amount of pain in varying degrees from person to person in the non-surgical facelift. This pain can be described as a slight stinging. However, it is unbearable and there is no great pain or ache. This situation also depends on the person’s pain threshold.

Number of Non-Surgical Face Lift Sessions and Session Duration

Generally, high-focus ultrasound is a single-session procedure. Non-surgical facelift application can be performed again after a certain period of time when needed and deemed necessary by the doctor. When we look in terms of session duration, the size of the area where the process is performed is important. We can say that the ultherapy application takes approximately half an hour or 45 minutes.

Who Can Have High Focused Ultrasound?

If the person does not have an electronic device and metal stent in the body, there is no active infection in the operation area, the person is not pregnant, does not have some immune-related diseases, does not have any wound healing problems, does not have diabetes or epilepsy, a non-surgical facelift can be performed with the HIFU device with the approval of the doctor. The people we can recommend this application are those who have problems with sagging and skin.

Focused Ultrasound Persistence and Duration

The duration of high-focus ultrasound may vary according to the problem and skin structure. This period is approximately 1 to 1.5 years. The first effects in non-surgical facelift can be seen immediately after the procedure. Real results may take up to 2 months to appear. The visible differences in the lifting effect and stretching will be clearer at the end of this period.
